Well, that was fun…
The other day we had the chance to test our bullet proof vests… It was awsome and scary at the same time. I now have so much respect for. 44 cal guns bow.

Yesterday, we went to Isabelo’s for a party. I was all excited to go there ever since every blogger was raving about it.
For those of you who dont know, Isabelo’s is a reservation only restaurant. You have to order your food ahead of time, which to me was no big deal. It showed that the people cooking will really make my food fresh and really well. The prices were a little high but if they use top ingredients I dont mind.
We were a big group so we ordred 2 pizzas Mushroom bleu cheese and wallnut pizza, and the 4 cheese pizza, arugula pear with orange salad, spinach cranberry salad, osso buco, beef ribs, salmon steak.
The salads were okay if it wasnt overdressed. The orange was too sweet and too many it ruined the salad for me and my husband. I personally was excited for the osso buco, the taste like the salad was sweet. Which was odd since osso bucos are tomato based. It was tender and edible dont get me wrong but a little salt and pepper would make a big difference.
The beef rib was quite a dissapointment. Again like the other dishes it was too sweet. Oh and the serving was more than dissapointing it was depressing. The ribs had more fat than beef and for a Php 900 dish it was way overprized. Oh it had a blue cheese dip which surprise, was sweet.
The pizza was,well, not bad. I even liked the rustic pizza crust they put it in. I enjoyed the pizza it wasnt sweet like the others. It was cheesy. ;)
Oh by the way, we only water while eating so i’m sure any sweet taste we get comes from the dish.
By the end of the meal my taste buds were burnt out by all the sweet dishes we’ve eaten. So yes, i refused dessert.
The staff were friendly but unfortunately inexperienced. You would expect impeccable service when it comes to reservation only restaurants since thats one thing that they sell. Their staff still needs more training.
The ambiance of isabelo’s was ofcourse homey, random things hung from the walls and were messily put up (which adds to its charm). It was nice and different, the place was very welcoming.
A word tho, prices in the menu online are not vat inclusive which you might be surprised if you get charged extra for it. So be prepared to pay an extra 12% for your meals total.
Overall, i was glad i tried Isabelo’s just for the experience. Although, I wouldnt suggest this place to anyone else if they asked me about their food. It’s somewhere that I would take someone for a date but not for dinner. I mean I wouldnt mind spending 7k for dinner if it was really worh it.
